The Yorkshire Mud Run obstacle course is designed to push you and your mates physically & mentally – this isn’t just an obstacle event or boring mud run, it had great reviews in 2014 and will be aiming to build on this in 2015 with even more obstacles and unique challenges. Our course is designed by ex British Army soldiers and they have set the course to challenge every entrant and team but still be within the capabilities of newbies and even beginners who relish a challenge and love having fun no matter how long it takes them (It’s a Mud Run NOT a Mud race- unless of course you want to beat the course record).
Of course it will take newbies longer but then that’s more time to enjoy the race eh! We have chosen some great terrain around the Temple Newsam estate and the course takes you off the beaten track and uses many of nature’s barriers. This year there are more than 20 or so great military style obstacles hand-built by our crack team of engineers to challenge your fitness, mental toughness and team work. Be prepared for a real challenge and fun along the way and we hope you can attempt every obstacle to go home feeling proud you have done something out of the ordinary and wear your t shirt with pride and your ‘ YMR 2015- mission accomplished’ wrist band should you retain it by completing every obstacle.
Although the exact details of mission YMR will not be known until you arrive on the event day and get the military style course briefing you should begin preparing yourself to tackle some of the challenges shown from the taster images from the May 2014 race. Consider getting your cardiovascular system in shape, building some muscular endurance and upper body strength too but also be prepared for that final sting in the tail on the 10k course and ensure you are ‘Commando Fit’ to complete the ‘ricochet’ obstacle at the end.
Good luck- and don’t forget your TWO FREE Yorkshire Mud Race Training Camp sessions available from April 1st at ANY Commando Fit training venue across Yorkshire in Leeds, Bradford, Wakefield, Brighouse, Barnsley, Guiseley and Mirfield: BOOK A FREE CAMP SESSION.
